Important People and Resources

My biggest and most helpful support in my educational career comes from my family. My brother specifically has helped me a lot with school work and projects. Normally the work I come to him asking for assistance with are things he has done in the past, as he is 2 grade levels above me, so I am able to get very helpful insight on my subjects through his experience. Outside of my family, however, I have other mentors who have given me support in school, like my friend Andrew, for example. Although Andrew is now home schooled as of his senior year, we used to got to school together, and have remained friends. He occasionally helps me out with projects and preparing for tests, since he has always excelled as a student.

Additionally, I have many people from my past who continue to influence my education. One of those people is Mrs. Retter, my 2nd grade teacher from Renaissance Village Academy. While I attended RVA I was exposed to many unconventional learning techniques that were able to help me learn material from many grades above mine at the time, giving me a significant head start in the rest of Elementary and Middle school. Mrs. Retter was an incredibly efficient instructor, and I still reference and utilize many of the things she taught me to this day.

Campus Resources

As far as resources I've used at mesa, so far I've only gone to the stand a couple times, but I really think that the counseling service will be a great help to me when I actually begin my classes at mesa. I often get overwhelmed and have trouble sustaining motivation to work if I feel like I'm failing, but I think talking to the counselors at mesa will help me stay on track to feel successful.
